7/30/14

Sorry that I still don't have anything for you guys. I've been so busy. Normally I write my story while I'm supposed to be doing Spanish and since I haven't been doing school I haven't gotten any writing time.
I don't want this blog to die a slow death like my previous blog so I really will try and write.

I'm Lame

I'm sorry that I haven't been posting much but I've been so busy with VBS at my church that I haven't had time for anything else. I'm so sorry for not having anything more for you guys.
I'm lame.
I suck.
I'll try and write more.

7/12/2014

Sorry that it's so short, but here's the next instalment!

This quest was going to be different from regular quests. Nobody had ever gone on a quest during perpetual night before, there would be things made easier by the darkness and things made harder. The mortals knew that something was wrong and they were scrambling to figure it out. Many thought that the world was ending. Monsters were using the darkness as cover to commit crimes in the immortal worlds. There was chaos all around and it was going to be stopped by three untrained kids.
They stood at the top of half-blood hill with heavy packs, industrial flashlights and their very own 100% celestial bronze weapons.
“The van can take you into town, from there you’re on your own,” said Annabeth. “I doubt that the busses will be running so you’ll have to be creative.”
Ben glanced nervously at the harpies who were going to drive the van, “Are you sure it’s safe?” he asked.
“The harpies are great drivers,” said Percy, “So don’t worry.”
“Take these,” Rachel said, pressing a net bag of golden drachma into Helen’s hands, “They can be used as payment in the immortal world or to send iris messages.”
“And pay attention to your dreams!” Added Piper. “Demigod dreams are always important.”
The three kids nodded and loaded their gear into the van. Mallory hugged her father, mother and brother goodbye. “I’ll see you soon,” she said.
Percy swept Mallory into a hug, “Be safe,” he whispered.
Mallory pulled back and smiled at her father, “I will,” she promised.
So Percy let her go, because in Mallory’s stormy grey eyes, he saw Annabeth.
After saying farewell to everyone, Mallory, Helen and Ben finally climbed into the van to begin their very first quest.
“So what’s the plan?” Ben asked as the van pulled away with a lurch.
“I honestly have no idea,” said Helen.

7/8/14

Hey, I'm working on the next instalment of my story.
I know I haven't been posting much. The story is getting harder to write and I'm getting busier.
But hopefully I'll have something for you guys soon.

7/5/14

Yeah, I know I said that I was going to post yesterday, but I forgot that it was the 4th of July.
Anyway, here are my pictures from the trip. The  pictures of rocks and mountains are from the Garden of the Gods. We weren't in the same area as Percy and friends but it's still beautiful. ♥
This is the outside of the chapel at the United States Air Force Academy.

The stained-glass windows go all the way up to the ceiling.
I love the windows.

When we went to Focus on the Family we had to wear a sticker to show that we had paid. After we were done
lots of people somehow stuck their stickers to one guys hat. Without him noticing.

7/3/14

The trip I went on was wonderful! I will continue to explain.
So on Wednesday June 18 my sister and I loaded our luggage into our dad's car then we and our family drove to our church, where everyone was meeting.
So we get to church at 5:15 as requested. For the next 45 minuets we watch the adults and a few of the boys try to get everyone's luggage to fit in the underneath storage. Eventually we get everything to fit and it's time to board the bus. We ended up leaving the church parking lot somewhere around 6pm which was our goal. So seats get chosen and drinks and snacks passed around. It would take forever and be fairly boring for me to explain the whole 18 hour bus ride.
18 hours?
Yeah, and that didn't even get us close to Colorado.
We drove almost non-stop from our church to Frontier School of the Bible in Wyoming. We slept (or tried to) on the bus Wednesday night. We made a few bathroom stops during the night and one stop for breakfast in the morning.
We went through some bad storms (if you live on/near the east coast you'll know what I'm talking about because some of those storms came this way).
Our amazing youth pastor, P.T drove the whole night, WITHOUT SLEEPING. We had various people from our group keeping him awake throughout the night by playing the Alphabet game and talking about theology.
I did not get any sleep on the bus that night so when we finally got to FSB I was just about ready to crash.
We all got to pick our rooms (within reason, boys in the boys dorm and girls in the girls dorm.).
I roomed with one of my best friends and my sister was down the hall with some of the other girls.
When we got into the rooms I looked around a realized that I didn't pack a sleeping bag (because I never got the packing list), I had only brought one pillow and one tiny blanket. There were no sheets on the bed.
Also, we were supposed to bring towels for the shower. Did I have one? No.
One of my friends had brought a huge fleece blanket so she let me borrow her sleeping bag. (Thanks G!)
As for the showers? I was out of luck.
So we had lunch and dinner at FSB and after dinner we got a tour of the campus and an opportunity  for the youth ensemble to rehearse our song. (We preformed I can only Imagine by Bart Millard/Mercy Me)
I didn't sleep very well that night either. It was good to sleep on a mattress but the beds were super creaky, some girls forgot about the time change and set their alarms for 4 in the morning and there was a train that went by in the middle of the night.
On Friday we went to the United States Air Force Academy and we also toured Focus on the Family.
I have pictures from those stops but you'll have to wait until tomorrow's post. ;)
